Fire destroys vacant condo in Keansburg

KEANSBURG - A five-alarm fire destroyed a condominium under construction in Keansburg this morning.

The fire broke out in a condominium complex on Beachway Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

Crews from multiple fire departments were called in to douse the flames.

Firefighters say the heat from the flames was so intense it melted the siding on the condominiums across the street and also damaged a nearby apartment building. The flames also destroyed six cars parked nearby.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze. Authorities are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
