NEW BRUNSWICK - A fast-moving fire ripped through a New Brunswick home this morning.

The fire broke out just after 5:30 a.m. today on Hassart Street.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze amid bitter cold temperatures and freezing water spray.

Authorities say no one was inside the home at the time. No injuries were reported.

Fire officials called salt and sand trucks to the scene to help deal with icing conditions from the water used to fight the fire.
