Fire destroys historic home in Monmouth County

MONMOUTH COUNTY - A fire destroyed a century-old home on Monmouth Avenue in Deal Saturday night.

The flames broke out at the three-story home at around 8 p.m., according to the Asbury Park Press. The house was built in 1909.

Officials say it took several hours to contain the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

Investigators say the fire was concentrated at the top two floors of the house.

The cause is under investigation.
