IRVINGTON - A three-alarm fire destroyed two Irvington apartment buildings early this morning.

Fire officials say the fire broke out at around 6:00 a.m. inside two buildings near the corner 21st Street and Hopkins Avenue.

Officials say the two buildings were heavily damaged in the fire. A third adjacent building was evacuated. Neighbors say the buildings were vacant.

Officials say more than 45 firefighters were called in to fight the blaze. No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
