PATERSON - It took firefighters more than two hours to get the upper hand on a blaze in a liquor store and apartment building in Paterson.
The apartments were above the liquor store in the 2½-story structure on Rosa Parks Boulevard. The fire was reported around 5:15 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to any other buildings.
Fire officials say one woman was injured and as many as nine residents were displaced by the blaze. No firefighters were injured.
The cause has not been determined.
