SOUTH BRUNSWICK - A two-alarm blaze last night destroyed a single-family home in South Brunswick and damaged two others.

Police say when firefighters arrived at the house at around 9:45 p.m., flames were shooting from the second-floor windows. Later, part of the roof collapsed. The home's six residents escaped without injury.

Officials say a house next door sustained fire and water damage and that another house was slightly damaged.

More than two dozen firefighters from several nearby communities were called in to help extinguish the blaze.
