BRIDGEWATER - Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire at a townhouse complex in Bridgewater early this morning.

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. on East Main Street. Finderne Fire Chief Dave Mangino arrived to find heavy fire on the second and third floor extending to the roof of the townhouses.

Fire officials tell News 12 New Jersey they believe the fire started on the deck of one of the townhouses.

All of the occupants inside the homes were safely evacuated, according to the Bridgewater fire chief.

One firefighter was injured as a result of the blaze. He was treated at the scene.
