Federal judge rejects Carl Lewis' NJ Senate bid

TRENTON - (AP) - A federal judge says nine-time Olympic goldmedalist Carl Lewis can't be listed on the November ballot for astate Senate seat in New Jersey.

The judge says the Democrat failed to meet the state's residencyrequirement.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno, a Republican, hadpreviously said Lewis was ineligible.

A federal appeals court permitted Lewis to be listed. He can askthat court to intervene in Wednesday's ruling.
