SAN FRANCISCO - A federal appeals judge has put an end to Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss' lawsuit against Facebook. The twins, along with a third Harvard classmate, filed a suit in 2004 against Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The Winklevoss twins alleged that Zuckerberg had stolen the idea for Facebook from them.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss were savvy enough to understand what they were agreeing to when they signed the agreement in 2008. The deal called for a $20 million cash payment and a partial ownership of Facebook.

This real life drama was made into a Hollywood drama last year in the Oscar-nominated movie 'The Social Network.'

The ruling upholds a lower court decision enforcing the settlement.

AP wire services were used in this report.
