FBI investigating New Brunswick mayoral primary

NEW BRUNSWICK - FBI agents are seizing documents and searching government offices in Middlesex County as part of a federal investigation into possible election fraud in New Brunswick.

FBI agents tell Kane In Your Corner that the seized records involve the New Brunswick mayoral primary in June. A past Kane In Your Corner report showed a YouTube video where Kevin Jones, an aide to New Brunswick Mayor James Cahill, is seen carrying a stack of unopened absentee ballots. The man who shot the video, Gideon Weisberg, says after he shot the video, he was assaulted by Jones.

Cahill was re-elected, but Weisberg says he isn't convinced the election was valid. FBI agents won't say if they are focusing on absentee ballots or looking at the election as a whole.
