NEWARK - The FBI has arrested a man accused of robbing six banks in New Jersey since June 24.
Quentin Morales, 25, is accused of successfully robbing five Wells Fargo banks in Kearny, Kenilworth, Linden, Clifton and Union. He allegedly tried to rob a Capital One bank in Elizabeth, but was not successful.
The bureau put the word out to the public Tuesday looking for information about Morales’s whereabouts. Hours later, he was pulled over in Newark and arrested.
Agents say that Morales would walk up to the bank teller and hand them a note demanding money. Officials say that he would allude to the fact that he was armed. After getting the money, he would allegedly leave the bank with the note and drive off in a stolen car.
Morales has been arrested before, allegedly for carjacking, according to authorities.
