EWING - (AP) - A Florida man and his father have beencharged with desecration of human remains for allegedly burying abody in a remote part of New Jersey's Pine Barrens.
New Jersey state police announced the arrests of 24-year-oldBrandon Strater of Daytona Beach and 55-year-old Lee Strater ofSewell on Wednesday.
The pair allegedly played roles in the improper burial of JosephButterworth, a 29-year-old Haddon Heights resident who was lastseen in July 2008.
Butterworth's remains were discovered earlier this month inWharton State Forest in Washington Township, Burlington County,after a hunter reported finding some bones.
But it's not yet clear how or when Butterworth died.
Brandon Strater remains in the Volusia County Jail in Florida.But his father was released after posting $25,000 bail.
A phone listing for Lee Strater could not be found Wednesday.
