Father of badly burned firefighter speaks

WEST ORANGE - The father of a badly injured Asbury Park firefighter sat down with News 12 New Jersey yesterday for his first public interview.

Dominic is the father of firefighter Jason Fazio, who was badly injured battling a fire on Jan. 10. The proud father and former police officer was moved to tears over his son, who is battling for his life.

Jason Fazio recently underwent skin graft surgery at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Essex County. He remains in a medically induced coma.

Numerous fundraisers have been held to help the injured firefighter and his family. His father says there has been an outpouring of help from hundreds of supporters.
