Fast-paced storms move through NJ

OLD BRIDGE - Powerful storms pelted New Jersey on Monday night with marble-sized hail in some places.

Lightning also cleared the stands at the New Meadowlands Stadium, where fans that had gathered for the Jets-Vikings game. They were instructed to leave their seats and to move to the concourse until the lightning passed through the area.

In Denville, a News 12 New Jersey viewer shot video of hail coming down, covering his backyard deck. The National Weather Service reported hail hitting Middlesex, Somerset, Hunterdon and Hudson Counties, ranging from pea-size to quarter-size pellets.

There were no reports of damage, and the storms left the area as quickly as they arrived.
