Farmers market at Kilmer Square Park in New Brunswick promotes healthy eating

NEW BRUNSWICK - New Brunswick is celebrating the second year of its second farmers market location.

The Jersey Fresh displays at Kilmer Square Park promote local produce, herbs, honey and baked goods.

The market accepts cash and credit as well as food stamp programs as a way to promote healthy eating.

"The program is called SNAP," says manager Carolina Mueller. "And we are working to get the word out...Not only do we accept WIC - women, infant and children - but also senior vouchers."

The market at the park is open every Wednesday through October. The other location is on Jones Street.
