A family was taken to the hospital overnight after a fire that officials say may have been sparked by a heater ravaged their home.Authorities say

JERSEY CITY - A family was taken to the hospital overnight after a fire that officials say may have been sparked by a heater ravaged their home.

Authorities say the fire broke out inside an apartment on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Bidwell Avenue.

Two adults and a child were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, officials said. Several police officers also suffered smoke inhalation.

Several parts of the city remain without power after Hurricane Sandy.
