EDISON - (AP) - The parents of a teenager who killed himself after his Rutgers roommate used a webcam to view his liaison with another man says the jury got it right.
A Middlesex County jury last week found Dharun Ravi guilty on all 15 charges he faced, including bias intimidation, a hate crime.
Ravi's roommate, Tyler Clementi, committed suicide in September 2010, days after the spying.
In a written statement, Tyler Clementi's father, Joseph Clementi, says the jury got it right. He says the defense's account of Ravi's actions, including the assertion that Ravi wasn't trying to intimidate his son, was "simply not believable."
The family didn't say what punishment would be appropriate. Ravi could face 10 years in prison when he's sentenced on May 21.
