UNION COUNTY - The family of the woman who allegedly had boiling hot oil poured on her in her sleep by her ex-husband say they have mixed emotions about his death.

The manhunt for Byron Stokely, who allegedly poured the hot oil on his ex-wife Terri Thompson, came to a conclusion when his body was found in the Passaic River last Thursday.

Terri's family says that they are glad this is over, but they would have rather had Stokely arrested and charged. Thompson has said in interviews that she was still afraid of her ex-husband, and that she is glad that she no longer has to look over her shoulder.
