EDISON - The family of Tamerlan Tsarnaev's wife posted a handwritten statement outside their home in North Kingston, New Hampshire on Friday.

The note reads, "Our daughter has lost her husband today, the father of her child. We cannot begin to comprehend how this horrible tragedy occurred. In the aftermath of the Patriot's Day horror, we know that we never really knew Tamerlane Tsarnaev. Our hearts are sickened by the knowledge of the horror he has inflicted. Please respect our family's privacy in this difficult time."

Tsarnaev, 26, was the focus of a manhunt in Boston after the FBI released his photo and identified him as "Suspect 1" in the marathon bombing. He was killed in a firefight with authorities early Friday morning. His 19-year-old brother was arrested last night in a Boston suburb.
