Family of slain Jersey City med student seeks answers

JERSEY CITY - A wake is set for Monday for a medical student from Jersey City who was killed on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao.

Kan Mei Chan was stabbed to death in her dorm by a fellow student at the Caribbean Medical University last month.

A university classmate, Moustapha Khalesa, is charged with killing the 24-year-old and stabbing a professor in a dorm on July 22.

Mei Chan's brother, Willy, tells The Journal of Jersey City he received advice about Dutch law from Beth Holloway, the mother of Natalee Holloway, who disappeared in 2005 on the nearby Dutch island of Aruba.

AP wire services contributed to this report.
