OAKLAND - An Oakland family is fighting to keep seven dogs, despite laws against owning more than four.

The Brown family originally had four dogs, but one of their daughter's moved back home bringing three dogs with her. Two months later, another one of the family's daughter passed away.

The Town Council held a meeting Wednesday night and upheld the law, despite dozens of supporters hoping that the grieving family would get to keep the animals.

The family says that they don't plan to move the dogs by the town's deadline of Sept. 24 and say that if the fines come, then they will fight the town in court.
