MONROE TOWNSHIP - A Molotov cocktail may have been used to firebomb the home of an Edison police officer.

The Middlesex County prosecutor says the Arlene Drive home of Edison Police Captain Mark Anderko was firebombed early Monday after someone supposedly detonated a gas can or Molotov cocktail at the front door.

Neighbors say the fire was in front of the rooms of the officer's two children. The family dog woke the family to the emergency.

The family escaped from the home and no one was injured.

Investigators are trying to establish a motive and gather information on possible suspects. The PBA is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information on the arson is asked to call the Middlesex County Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 939-9600.
