Falling metal pole injuries 2 boys in Lodi

LODI - Witnesses say that a metal pole used to anchor a clothesline fell on top of a 6-year-old boy and his 12-year-old brother, causing serious injuries.

Witnesses say that the 6-year-old boy was bleeding from his ears and mouth after the accident. The 12-year-old boy suffered a leg injury. Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

The boys were said to be playing in their backyard in Lodi. They were hanging items on the clothesline when the pole, estimated to be 90 years old, snapped and landed on them.

Police have not yet released information about the boys' identities or their current conditions.
