TRENTON - Police officers from across the state gathered Tuesday to remember those who have paid the ultimate price.

The annual Trenton Blue Mass was held at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church.

Along with a religious ceremony, the event is a chance for law enforcement to reflect on the challenge of fighting crime in tough financial times.

"We deal with the violence here on a daily basis, and these are the men and women under limited manpower who are doing the job every day selflessly," says Trenton Police Director Ralph Rivera.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and acting state Attorney General John Hoffman also attended the Blue Mass today.
