FAIRFIELD - Fairfield Mayor James Gasparini is calling for stronger flood response as the Passaic River surges.

Gasparini says the state and the federal governments are creating flood maps, but that it doesn't solve the flooding issues that keep rising in Fairfield. He says the Passaic River needs serious dredging and a flood tunnel. Residents that have lived in the area a long time say floods come more frequently these days and with a lot more water.
