NEWARK - It is day four of the FAA-imposed furloughs of air traffic controllers across the country.

The furloughs are an attempt by the FAA to recoup $600 million in budget cuts.

Each employee has been asked to take 11 unpaid days off through September. The cuts amount to about 10 percent less employees operating the control towers.

Passengers at Newark Liberty have seen minor delays, primarily in arriving flights, but they continue to monitor the effects.
