Ex-wife, former father-in-law charged in man's death

FREEHOLD - Police have arrested the former father-in-law of a man who was found dead in a burning car in Long Branch, one day after arresting the victim's ex-wife.

Police say Thomas Dorsett, 64, was taken into custody today and charged with the murder of 42-year-old Stephen Moore.

Dorsett's daughter, Kathleen Dorsett, 36, of Ocean Township, is being held in the Monmouth County jail after being taken into custody Monday afternoon. She was also charged with the murder of Moore.

Authorities say Moore was last seen dropping off the couple's 20-month-old daughter at Dorsett's Ocean Township home on Aug. 16.

The 42-year-old's body was found in the trunk of his mother's burned car in Long Branch Aug. 18. Officials have not yet released how he died.
