EDISON - Former vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin spent much of Saturday campaigning for U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan.
Palin took part in a rally for Lonegan at the New Egypt Speedway.
Lonegan's opponent, Cory Booker, had several events scheduled for the afternoon as well, including a women's leadership breakfast in Paterson and a meet-and-greet in Bergenfield.

The two candidates will go head-to-head in a special election this Wednesday, Oct. 16.
