FAIR LAWN - A Fair Lawn family had a special Thanksgiving as they met the woman whose life was saved by a bone marrow donor.

Cassandra Wadham and her family took the eight-hour drive from Canada to New Jersey to meet the stranger who saved her life. Cassandra was suffering from leukemia last year when Erika Duffy stepped in and signed up as a bone marrow donor. Within weeks, the two were a match for stem cell blood transfer.

Duffy's mother broke into tears as they welcomed Cassandra and her family to Thanksgiving.

Both families are hoping that more people will become bone marrow donors so that more families can have Thanksgivings such as this.
