ENGLEWOOD - The Englewood Police Department has released surveillance video of Monday night's drive-by shooting in hope that the public can help identify a suspect.

The shooting happened around 5:45 p.m. Monday. The video shows a light-colored Toyota Camry driving in the parking lot of the Westmoore Garden housing complex. The Camry passes a group of men and then makes a U-turn. As the car approaches the group, a person is seen leaning out of the window and firing a gun at them. The group scatters, trying to get away from the gunfire, and the car speeds off.

Englewood police say that they believe there were four people inside the car at the time of the shooting, including a small child. Police say that they suspect the guardian of that child was not aware a shooting was about to take place. Police want that person to come forward so they can be interviewed.

“The fact that there was a child in the car and the nature of the shooting being so depraved, makes the need for this case to be resolved extremely urgent,” an Englewood police spokesperson said in a statement.

Police believe this was a targeted shooting. None of the men were seriously injured. One person suffered a gunshot wound to the foot, but is expected to be OK.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information about the shooting. Anyone who may recognize the car should contact the Englewood Detective Bureau at 201-568-4875 or Crime Stoppers at 1-844-466-6789.
