ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS - The mayor of Englewood Cliffs says electronics-maker LG is willing to discuss a compromise with project opponents over the the height of its controversial new headquarters.

LG is set to build a new North American headquarters along the Palisades cliffs, overlooking the Hudson, but opponents say it will spoil the natural landscape.

The company says it is willing to discuss reasonable compromises to the height of the building.

"LG wants to stay in Englewood Cliffs and is willing to work toward a positive outcome," says Mayor Joseph Parisi.

Those who have been fighting against the new construction say they are encouraged. "I think LG is definitely going to come to a compromise," says Tim Englert. "I think they will see the wisdom of building below the tree-line."

The project is moving forward following the settlement of several legal battles.
