EDISON - Two Endeavour astronauts, one from West Orange, are taking spacewalks outside the International Space Station this morning.

Endeavour shuttle commander Mark Kelly and another astronaut started the first of four walks at around 3 a.m. and will be out until around 9:30 a.m. The astronauts are performing station maintenance.

Endeavour's crew is in the middle of a 16-day mission to deliver a space particle detector and a raft of spare supplies for the space station.

Kelly is the husband of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head in January as part of an assassination attempt.
