Elmwood Park school board agrees to cut most school bus routes

ELMWOOD PARK - School board officials in Elmwood Park have agreed to eliminate most of the town's school bus routes.

The 6-3 school board vote reportedly came after a 90-minute public debate.

The change will save the town about $300,000, but it will force about 900 public school students to find another way to school.

Officials are also considering a plan to impose a busing fee of about $50 a month to share the cost of busing.
