ELIZABETH - The signs in Elizabeth on West Grand Street say that there should be no parking between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Yesenia Vega is one of the residents that received a ticket last month when she parked on West Grand Street.
News 12 New Jersey reported last month when Vega and other residents received tickets, when a parking ordnance that was ignored for years was suddenly enforced for one day in July. All eight residents that showed up in court to fight the tickets were denied.
Since last month's story, police officers have not been issuing tickets under that same sign. Police officers say they won't be issuing tickets, as city council and police officers re-evaluate this particular parking rule.
