ELIZABETH - Family and friends gathered at the Gorny and Gorny Funeral Home in Elizabeth today for the wake of fallen Marine Francisco Jackson.

The 24-year-old Marine was killed by a bomb blast in Afghanistan last week. Those close to him say they are still trying to come to terms with their loss, but consider him a hero.

Jackson's friends say he enlisted in October 2009 to give his family a better life.

The funeral is scheduled for Saturday morning.
