Education Law Center: Battle for education funding isn't over

NEWARK - At the Education Law Center in Newark, experts say that the battle over education funding isn't over, despite a recent victory in New Jersey Supreme Court.

The high court ruled that urban districts should get more money, but David Sciarra, of the law center, says lawmakers should follow the legal funding formula that would give more money to all schools.

The decision applies only to the state's urban districts, so while schools wait anxiously to see how the ruling will impact their budgets, some Brick City parents say they're glad the court saw their needs.

The Education Law Center also says that parents need to be vigilant and hold districts accountable for spending money wisely. The center had previously filed a lawsuit, which led to the court's decision.
