EDISON - The Edison Police Department has launched an online citizen crime reporting system.

The system, known as Coplogic, allows minor crimes or incidents to be reported without the need for a police officer to take an initial police report.

"The Edison Police Department will benefit greatly from this new initiative," Chief Thomas Bryan said. "We will be able to free up and reallocate police resources to better meet the needs of the community, while at the same time providing a 24/7 online system for citizens to report a crime or incident at their convenience."

Citizens will be able to report a crime or incident from any computer or smart phone with Internet access and a valid email address.
