EDISON - Edison High School debuted new features during its first day of school today.

Additional outside cameras have been added as an extra measure of security to keep students and staff safe. The school principal says it is not a direct response to last year's tragedy in Newtown, Conn. There are 110 cameras in place in and around the school.

A brand new science wing with six labs, a magnet school and a more diverse curriculum have been added as a way to offer students an education to pursue potential careers.

Some New Jersey schools are waiting until next week after the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah to start classes.
