EAST BRUNSWICK - A town in Middlesex County is being honored with a steel beam from the World Trade Center.

The six-foot steel beam, weighing half a ton, honors the town's firefighters, who were among those that responded to the scene and provided backup for FDNY.

The initial plan was to incorporate the I-beam into the brand new firehouse, but they didn't receive it in time. The town now plans to use the beam for a separate memorial.
