Early morning fire damages new home in Holmdel

Firefighters have gained the upper hand on an overnight fire in Monmouth County.

Fire rips through Holmdel home (12/22/15)

HOLMDEL - An early morning fire damaged a brand new home in Holmdel Tuesday.

The fire started a little after 2 a.m. on Hop Brook Lane. The home was newly built and was still partially under construction. No one was inside the house at the time of the fire.

Four fire departments were called in to help fight the blaze. No injuries were reported.

A family was supposed to move into the house in a few weeks.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
