Drivers urged to stay off NJ roads

EDISON - Numerous accidents and spinouts were reported to News 12 New Jersey across state amid heavy snow in the region.

Authorities say most roads, including the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike, were snow-covered, slushy and slippery throughout the day.

Those who must venture out were being urged to take cell phones and a "winter weather kit" with blankets, water, food, flashlights and other essential items.
