Driver, aide injured in school bus crash in Budd Lake

BUDD LAKE - School officials in Mount Olive say a bus carrying two children was involved in a two-vehicle accident on Route 46 near Wolfe Road this afternoon.

Mount Olive School District Superintendent Larry Reynolds says none of the children, ages 3 and 4, were injured in the collision. The students, who both have special needs, were released to their parents.

The driver and a classroom aide were evaluated by a medical crew at the scene and later taken to the hospital.

Reynolds says the bus struck a traffic light pole after swerving to avoid a car that had run a red light.
