NORTH PLAINFIELD - It was a prom of a different breed at the Best Friends Pet Care Center in North Plainfield Friday.

Canine couples were dressed to the nines for a special day that even included the center's staff.

The event included doggie dancing, games, photos, and the election of LuLu and Clover as prom king and queen.

At least 38 facilities are holding doggie proms around the country this week. More than 1,200 dogs are expected to attend.
