NEW BRUNSWICK - Several players from the New Jersey Devils hoped to brighten some children’s day by visiting them at the hospital.

The players visited eight of New Jersey’s hospitals and met with patients in the children’s wards.

“We wanted to show them that we’re here and that we battle through stuff…and stay strong,” said Devils forward Stefan Matteau.

Other players who visited the children include Jon Merrill and Eric Gelinas.

The Devils play the Detroit Red Wings Friday.
