NEWARK - The New Jersey Devils lost their first home game of the 2013-2014 season Friday night.

The Devils played the New York Islanders at the Prudential Center, losing 4-3. The Devils opened their season Thursday night on the road, falling 3-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Devils' mascot paid a visit to News 12 New Jersey's studios Friday morning.

New Jersey's Adam Henrique told News 12 the team had been looking forward to opening night for a long time. He said the outcome wasn't desirable, but hopes he and his teammates will be able to rebound quickly.
