EDISON - A bear that was originally believed to have attacked two children has been captured and killed today, according to Department of Environmental Protection officials.

The bear was thought to have attacked the children Wednesday in Sussex County, but was later proved to have not been responsible for that attack.

Officials say the bear still posed a threat and had to be euthanized.
