EDISON - New Jersey’s presidential primary elections are less than two months away, so it is time for residents to make sure they are registered to vote.
New Jersey residents who wish to change their political party affiliation in order to vote in the primary only have one day left to do so. The deadline to make such changes is April 13, 2016.
Those who wish to change their affiliation can do so at their county clerk’s office, municipal town halls or at social service agencies.
Registration forms can also be found on the New Jersey Division of Elections website; however, forms must be mailed or turned in in person. New Jersey does not have online voter registration.
Those who are registering under a party affiliation for the first time have a little longer to register. The deadline to register for the primary is May 17.
New Jersey’s primary will be held on June 7.
