MIDDLETOWN - Eleven years have passed since Deena Castineira lost her mother, Anna Laverty, in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
Thanks to advancements in DNA testing, scientists were recently able to identify a remain belonging to Laverty.
This discovery, Castineira says, has helped close 'just a little' hole that has been in her heart since that day.
Castineira says the family has decided to wait to claim the remains because she believes the new DNA testing will find more matches to her mother.
"It will feel good to be able to put her to rest," says Castineira. "When we finally do, it will be good. I'll have somewhere to go now." Middletown Sept. 11 victim's remains identified
