BUTLER - New information about the circumstances surrounding a police-involved shooting in Butler last month have surfaced.

According to a Daily Record report, Dylan Hannah, 23, allegedly pointed a shotgun at a Butler police officer before police shot him.

Hannah was shot four times in front of his grandparents’ home on West Belleview Avenue on March 31.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Butler police received reports of a suspicious person just prior to the shooting.

After the shooting, Hannah’s mother told News 12 New Jersey that her son was trying to avoid confrontation with police and she felt that he shouldn’t have been shot.
