Crews repair burst water main in Wayne

Crews say a 10 inch main burst early

Crews say a 10 inch main burst early this morning.

WAYNE - Newark Pompton Turnpike in Wayne has been reopened after a water main break shut down part of the roadway.

Crews say a 10 inch main burst early this morning. About a dozen homes were affected while crews worked to repair the pipe.

Homeowners say water was restored at around 11 a.m. The town says no boil water advisories were issued.

Water crews tell News 12 New Jersey that the incident marked the third water main break they had worked on since Saturday night -- an unusual occurrence, they say, but not one that's unheard of.
